Multiple Injuries Reported After Freightliner Collides with Several Passenger Vehicles
The Connecticut State Police are seeking witnesses to a serious, multi-car accident that occurred on I-84 near Exit 1 (Saw Mill Road) in Danbury. Reports indicate that several people were injured as a result of the crash. A passenger of one of the vehicles was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Investigation Continues into Four-Car Collision on I-84
The investigation continues into the multi-car collision that injured several and left one hospitalized. According to news reports, four vehicles, including a 2018 Freightliner, were traveling Westbound on I-84 near Exit 1 in Danbury when traffic slowed in front of them.
At around 2:15 pm, the Freightliner rear-ended the 2006 Nissan Pathfinder in front of him, forcing the vehicle off the road and down a nearby embankment. The Pathfinder eventually came to a stop after colliding with a tree at the bottom of the right shoulder embankment near the Saw Mill Road exit.
After crashing into the Pathfinder, the Freightliner continued forward, slamming into another vehicle, a Volvo XC40. The impact forced the Volvo forward into a fourth and final car.
Several Injured, One Hospital
The dangerous truck accident caused several injuries and sent one person to the hospital. A 41-year-old passenger out of Mahopac, NY, in the Pathfinder reportedly sustained serious, life-threatening injuries.
The tragic four-vehicle crash shut down the Westbound lanes of I-84 for several hours.
